The Legacy Forum™ Advisor Selection and Engagement Process

The Legacy Forum™ Advisors are distinguished professionals, chosen for their wisdom and enriched by life experience, education, and relationships. Every candidate undergoes rigorous training and a comprehensive vetting process to ensure they meet our high standards as Advisors and Experts. Identifying qualified individuals is an ongoing endeavor, supported by a robust selection methodology and intuitive judgment.

Establishing Trust with Clients and Families

The primary responsibility of each Legacy Forum™ Advisor when engaging with a client or family is to establish a foundation of trust. Without this, our work remains theoretical rather than transformative. During the initial months of engagement, Advisors employ several strategies to enhance relationship-building:

  • Retreats: Advisors frequently utilize short retreats, lasting one to five days, to provide an environment free from distractions and foster meaningful connections.

  • Confidentiality: The Legacy Forum and all it's programs, including The Family PEOPLE Office are trained and are well versed in the utmost need for confidentiality.  Open communication is encouraged in all interactions. While our process is not a mental health service, it focuses on the essential elements of fulfilling life and enduring legacy. Collaboration with mental health professionals occurs as needed, with the primary objective being constructive development.

  • In Viva: Probably 90% of our Advisory work is not done in an office but with the clients wherever thy are.  Advisors build trust through active participation in clients’ lives, both formally and informally. This may include meetings at clients’ residences, involvement in activities such as sports (golf, pickle ball, tennis), travel, business matters, philanthropic efforts, and faith experiences when applicable. Understanding the people and environments central to our clients enhances the depth and quality of our legacy-building work.

  • Interview Process: The Legacy Forum™ addresses these and other relevant topics during prospective client interviews.
